Felony bonds are one of many bond types we offer. And we have years of experience working in the bail bond field which means you can count on us for fast, efficient service every time.
We are not here to determine anything about your case. We instead provide a safe environment for you to secure a bail bond. Or if your loved one has been charged with a felony, we can help you get them out on bail and back home as quickly as possible. Because a felony charge is a serious matter, it is important that the defendant gets home and seeks legal advice before trial.
What are felonies?
Felonies are a more serious charge than misdemeanors with heftier penalties. The following can all be charged as felonies, though they also can be misdemeanors:
- Domestic Violence
- Drug Possession
- Sexual Assault
This list is of course not extensive and many other crimes can result in felony charges. Whether or not these charges will be classified as a misdemeanor or felony has to do with a wide number of variables such as the severity of the crime. Theft for example is classified based on the value of what was stolen:
- Under $100 = Class 3 Misdemeanor
- $100 to $499.99 = Class 2 Misdemeanor
- $500 to $14,999.99 = Class 4 Felony
- $15,000 or more = Class 3 Felony
In Colorado felony cases will range from first-degree to sixth-degree. The lower numbers are more serious offense and higher numbers are less serious. First-degree murder for example would be a first-degree felony, the most serious felony charge.
